Question #10: Describe what is meant by “biblical anthropology” and briefly describe what is covered under the theological topic.
Answer: Biblical anthropology is the study and discourse about the nature of man according to what the Scripture reveals about man. This includes how man stands before God and how he should stand before God, that is, what is his true condition before a holy God and how he should be to Him. “In a theological sense, the study of what the Bible says about man and the relation in which he stands and should stand to God.”1
In short, biblical anthropology covers the topics of man’s origin, man’s nature and man’s destiny. Where did he come from? What is man like? And where is man going?
