Question #13:Define “inspiration” as it is used in the Bible.
Answer:Inspiration is God breathing out the words in the Bible (2 Tim 3:16). “What indication do we have that such an influence was actually present upon the biblical writers? Here we have two kinds of considerations. First is the testimony of the writers themselves and others regarding such an occurrence [2 Pet. 1:20-21; Acts 1:16]. Second is the way in which New Testament persons, including authors of New Testament books and Jesus Himself, conceive of the Old Testament as God’s genuine message [John 10:35; Matt. 5:18; Jer. 30:4; Isa. 8:11].”
