QUICK BIO I’m an Army Chaplain. I preach Christ, and I jump out of perfectly good aircrafts. My soldiers expect not only that I pray for them, they also want me to enjoy the thrill and endure the hazards of being an Airborne soldier with them! I’m married to Brittany, the most beautiful blonde in the world! She’s from Denver. I’m from Mindanao. We have four adorable “mestisas” named Kyleigh, Kloeigh, Kelleigh and Karleigh. A bit confusing? I know what you mean. That’s why I call them K1, K2, K3 and K4. I love the Lord Jesus Christ because He first loved me. How did Christ love me? He saved me from slavery of sin. He rescued me from death which is the just penalty for my sins. He died for me satisfying the righteous wrath of God. He gave me his perfect righteousness for mine were “as filthy rags.” He was buried and risen from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now advocates and intercedes for me. So when my chute doesn’t open and I hit the ground at a smashing speed, I go immediately to God’s presence in heaven. When people ask me, “Is it fun being a Christian?” My answer: “Absolutely!” And that is why I preach Christ today.

CONVERSION STORY I had always considered myself a good boy until it was brought to my attention that I was a sinner before God, and in need of salvation through Christ alone.  On that one Sunday morning in Mindanao, Philippines, I heard the gospel for the first time.  I was about 10 or 11 years old.  The Sunday school teacher showed us verses from the Bible how that we could not earn salvation by good works.  There was only one way for me to be saved and that was by putting my trust in the work of Jesus Christ–that He was God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, died at the cross of Calvary as my substitute for my sin, and rose again from the dead to prove His claim of deity (I Corinthians 15:1-4).  From that time on, I believe that good news of the gospel of Christ.  I began to be under the preaching ministry of a national pastor of a Baptist Church in the same village in the Philippines.  My parents encouraged me to memorize verses such as John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Psalm 1, Romans 3:23; 6:23, and Revelation 21:8.  During my teenage years, my Christianity took several beatings from friends, and peers.  But it was through the study of God’s word and His grace to live out the principles learned therein that God strengthened my faith in Him.  On April 25, 1995, I asked my pastor to baptize me.

CALL INTO THE MINISTRY God’s call for me into the ministry came during my service in the U.S. Navy (1996-2002).  In 1998, I surrendered to whatever God wants me to do whether it be in pastoral, missions, or church-planting ministry.  I was on duty at the Naval Hospital, Okinawa, JAPAN, when the 9/11 attacks took place.  Just as any one who has patriotic blood in their veins, I wanted to do something for our country–while still felt the tug towards the gospel ministry.  When I finished my service contract with the Navy, I decided to go to Bible college and still served in the Naval Reserve.  At Bible College, a chaplain recruiter came to present a great challenge: to serve God and serve our country at the same time.  So in 2004, I started to pray if the Lord would be pleased that I become a military chaplain.  The Lord answered my prayer and in 2010, I began the process of becoming a Chaplain in the Army Reserve.  In 2011, I was commissioned as an officer as a Chaplain Candidate.  I am currently assigned to an Airborne unit where I serve as the Battalion Chaplain ministering to around 250 soldiers.  This ministry includes crisis counseling, providing religious services, assisting in advising senior officers of the welfare and morale of the unit, and more importantly, preaching the gospel!

    1. Greetings Brother Manolito! I’m glad to read your comment. It seems you have a great ministry to the youth in Metro Manila. There is a great need for gospel ministry to the youth there I know. I’ve lived in the Pasig area for several months. Again thank you for sharing your ministry.
